Gleaner Min Yi Su shared her thoughts about the seed donation with us.
For those of you who were lucky enough to attend the seed donation March 1st or receive one of the lovingly curated brown bags, like me, you are probably starting to witness your seeds sprout. I’ve been watching that soil for a couple of weeks now, and finally, I am beginning to see the first leaves emerge.
It’s one of the most joyous and magical times of the year — each seed is a promise. Here I have a promise of peas, here is a promise of lettuce. And my promise to them is to take care of them as best I can. But sometimes, promises can’t be kept, our wishes don’t come true the way we want, the seeds don’t sprout into plants or ripen into fruit. In times such as this, I am particularly grateful to be a part of the EAG because here abundance is shared and traded. Even if wishes didn’t
come true one way, it will be fulfilled in another. That’s the magic of this community.
